I love cooking and baking at home, i find it comforting, seriously. Dinner was a bit later than expected, i am still trying to get my head around the longer days and shorter nights vibe, thats going on here in Ireland and by the way, i have a watch that tells the time i just didn't check it, too busy cooking away. Alicen and Owen came over for dinner all dressed causally with smiles on their faces after being in Spain on holidays for 10 days. Although, i wouldn't have expected any other face expression. I hated that they went to a warm location while i stayed here in the blasted cold but then i was happy to see their tanned faces after all. My guests had no idea i was going all out tonight in the kitchen making a Three Course Meal as if i am a MasterChef or something. Heres a little secret............ i struggle plating up (please don't tell anyone) its a weakness of mine and i need to have a word with Michel Roux Jr for a bit of help to fix it at once.
Starter
Butternut Squash and Carrot Soup served with Crispy Minced Beef topped with Drizzle Coconut Milk
Main Course
Chicken Tikka Masala served with Pilau Rice
Dessert
Banana Loaf with Ginger and Orange Cream topped with Banana Rum Chocolate Sauce
I love being in the kitchen in my early teens and then in my early 20's i'd started baking. Ian Garten is a Chef who owns Barefoot Contessa and she is someone i always admire , definitely my girl i just love the way she cooks. Today is a break day from all the healthy eating combining that with a of glass wine or two. Its the weekend! i just wanted to break free from my daily routine of diet life or just healthy living once every now and again. They say LIVE, EAT, PRAY and tonight i was living.
PS!! Main Course missing in action here sorry about that but it was so divine i just dived right in!
Happy Weekend!!
