The moment I was waiting on has finally arrived "Valentine's Day" and I was out of it. We had booked dinner reservation for four at this fantastic Hotel Brooklodge for the Italian restaurant, which I assume was amazing. Unfortunately, I was there for three hours before dinner that was at 8:15pm sharp, just to watch Ireland play France in Rugby on tele in a bar, surrounded by Irish people hooting and hollering every time Ireland got the ball over the line or if France did vice versa. It's strange I even made it out of my house so early to sit and watch a sport.........like rugby in a bar! It was Valentine's Day, the least I could do for the hubs. After all, he said no gifts please.
I wasn't concerned about my drinking, I deserved it, after being clean off the booze for over a month. Luckily, I'd discovered that occasional drinking leading up to excessive drinking sessions should be an option so I will be A - Okay and I didn't do so........idiot!
To be serious, my morning started fairly busy and I didn't even stop to consider about eating a well deserved meal before dinner later that night. Clearly, this was all my fault. How tacky is it to drink on an empty stomach?
I was more than embarrassed about this episode. Yes, I slept it off with my face slabbed on the table facing nothing but darkness. There was obviously alot going around me, I recall ordering 3 courses after being seated around the table but by the time I woke the dinner table was cleared and the bill was paid for. Clearly, I thought I would be alive. After all, it was the moment I've been waiting for.
